Have you seen him who turns his back, 33 Who gives but little, and is niggardly? 34 Is with him knowledge of the unseen so that he seeth? 35 Or has he not been informed of what was in the scriptures of Moses 36 And of Abraham who fulfilled his trust? -- 37 that no soul shall bear the burden of another; 38 And that for man shall be naught save that wherefor he endeavoureth. 39 and that in time [the nature of] all his striving will be shown [to him in its true light,] 40 Then will he be rewarded with a reward complete; 41 To your Lord will all things eventually return. 42 And that He it is who maketh laugh, and maketh weep, 43 that it is He who causes death and gives life; 44 and He it is Who created the two kinds, the male and the female, 45 From Nutfah (drops of semen male and female discharges) when it is emitted; 46 And that He hath ordained the second bringing forth; 47 And that it is He Who enricheth and preserveth property. 48 that He is the Lord of Sirius. 49 It is He who utterly destroyed the ancient tribes of Ad, 50 And the Thamud nor gave them a lease of perpetual life. 51 and before them the people of Noah who were even more unjust and insolent; 52 just as He thrust into perdition those cities that were overthrown 53 So they were covered with whatever covered them? 54 Then which of the favors of your Lord do you doubt? 55 He who warns you is one of the warners of old. 56 The imminent Hour has drawn near, 57 None except Allah can avert it. 58 Will you, then, wonder at this? 59 And you laugh at it and weep not, 60 While ye amuse yourselves? 61 So bow yourselves before God, and serve Him! ۩ 62
