The Galloppers (Al-Aadeyaat)

11 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Afternoon (Al-'Asr) before Bounty (Al-Kawthar)

In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful

I swear by the runners breathing pantingly, 1 by the strikers of fire, 2 rushing to assault at morn, 3 And raise the dust in clouds the while, 4 And penetrate forthwith into the midst (of the foe) en masse;- 5 Verily! Man (disbeliever) is ungrateful to his Lord; 6 and he himself is a witness to that, 7 and surely he loves riches with a passionate loving. 8 ۞ Does he not know,- when that which is in the graves is scattered abroad 9 and that which is in the breasts is brought out -- 10 indeed, on that Day their Lord will be aware of them! 11
