▼ 74 The Hidden Secret
Al-Muddath-thir 2 of 2
NAY, but consider the moon! 32 By the night when it withdraweth. 33 and the morn when it dawns! 34 it is one of the greatest trials, 35 A warning for people -- 36 To any of you that chooses to press forward, or to follow behind;- 37 Each soul is held in pledge for what it earns, 38 save the People of the Right Hand 39 who in their gardens will be enquiring 40 From the guilty. 41 "What has brought you into hell-fire?" 42 They said, “We never used to offer the prayer.” 43 "Nor we used to feed Al-Miskin (the poor); 44 "And we used to talk falsehood (all that which Allah hated) with vain talkers. 45 and we cried lies to the Day of Doom, 46 Until the certainty (of death) had come upon us. 47 So the intercession of the intercessors will not benefit them. (The disbelievers will not have any intercessor.) 48 So what is the matter with them that they turn away from the advice? 49 As if they were asses taking fright 50 running away from a lion? 51 Nay, every man of them desires to be -- given -- scrolls unrolled. 52 No! They do not fear the Hereafter -- 53 There is no doubt that the Quran is a guide. 54 So whoever wills may heed advice from it. 55 they will only take heed if God so wills: He is the Lord who is worthy to be feared: the Lord of forgiveness. 56
