Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The sure calamity! 1 What is the sure calamity! 2 What makes you to know what the Resurrection Verifier is? 3 THE LIE gave [the tribes of] Thamud and 'Ad to [all tidings of] that sudden calamity! 4 But the Thamud,- they were destroyed by a terrible Storm of thunder and lightning! 5 And the 'Ad, they were destroyed by a furious Wind, exceedingly violent; 6 Which He sent to assail them for seven nights and eight days running. You should have seen the people prostrate like the decayed trunks of date-palm trees. 7 Can you see any remnant of them now? 8 And Fir'awn and those before him and the overturned cities committed sin. 9 and they rebelled against the Messenger of their Lord, and He seized them with a surpassing grip. 10 Indeed, when the water overflowed, We carried your ancestors in the sailing ship 11 So that We may make it a reminder to you, and that the retaining ear might retain it. 12 When a single blow is blown on the Horn, 13 when the earth with all its mountains is lifted up and crushed with a single blow, 14 then, on that day, the Terror shall come to pass, 15 The heaven will be split; because on that Day it will be frail. 16 And the angels will be on the sides thereof, and eight will uphold the Throne of thy Lord that day, above them. 17 On that Day you will be brought to judgement and none of your secrets will remain hidden. 18 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, he will say: Lo! read my book: 19 Surely I knew that I should have to meet my reckoning. 20 So he shall have an agreeable life 21 In a Garden lofty. 22 its clusters nigh to gather. 23 (And told:) "Eat and drink to your fill as reward for (good) deeds you had done in days of yore." 24 And as for him who is given his book in his left hand he shall say: O would that my book had never been given me: 25 And knew not what my reckoning! 26 Oh! Would that the death that came to me in the world had made an end of me! 27 Of no use was even my wealth. 28 "My power and arguments (to defend myself) have gone from me!" 29 [Allah will say], "Seize him and shackle him. 30 Then cast him into the burning fire, 31 then fasten him with a chain, seventy cubits long. 32 Indeed, he did not use to believe in Allah, the Most Great, 33 and did not feel any urge to feed the needy: 34 That is why he has no friend today, 35 neither any food saving foul pus, 36 which no one will eat except the sinners. 37

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
