The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Woe to the defrauders, 1 Who insist on being given full when they take from others, 2 But if they give by measure or by weight to them, they cause loss. 3 Do those not think that they shall be raised up 4 on a Great Day, 5 The day when everyone will stand before the Lord Of The Creation. 6 By no means! Verily the record of the ungodly is in Sijjin. 7 And what will make thee know whatsoever the record in Sijjin is? 8 It is a Book inscribed. 9 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 10 those who give the lie to the [coming of] Judgment Day: 11 And none gives the lie to it but every exceeder of limits, sinful one 12 And when Our revelations are rehearsed unto him, he saith: fables of the ancients! 13 No indeed; but that they were earning has rusted upon their hearts. 14 Yes indeed – they will be deprived of seeing their Lord on that day. 15 Then they will indeed burn in Hell. 16 Then, it will be said to them: "This is what you used to deny!" 17 Nay, but the record of the righteous is in 'Illiyin - 18 What could let you know what the 'Illiyoon is! 19 It is a comprehensively written Book (of records). 20 which the angels placed near Allah to safeguard. 21 Behold, [in the life to come] the truly virtuous will indeed be in bliss: 22 resting on couches, looking around. 23 You will recognise in their faces the brightness of delight. 24 They will be given to drink of pure wine, sealed. 25 With a sealing of musk, which those who aspire for the best should desire, -- 26 With it will be (given) a mixture of Tasnim: 27 a spring, the nearest ones to God will drink from it. 28 Those in sin used to laugh at those who believed, 29 and winked at one another as they passed them by. 30 And when they returned to their own people, they would return jesting; 31 And whenever they saw them, they would say, "Behold! These are the people truly astray!" 32 Whereas they were not sent over them as watchers. 33 But today the believers are laughing at the unbelievers; 34 Regarding them from their cushioned seats. 35 Are not the disbelievers paid for what they used to do? 36
