The unbelieving assembly of his nation, who belied the encounter of the Everlasting Life, and on whom We had bestowed ease in this life, said: 'This is but a human like yourselves; he eats of what you eat and drinks of what you drink. 33 and, indeed, if you pay heed to a mortal like yourselves, you will surely be the losers! 34 Promiseth he unto you that ye, when ye have died and have become dust and bones, ye are to be brought forth? 35 ۞ “How remote, (really) how remote is the promise you are given!” 36 Life is not but our worldly life - we die and live, but we will not be resurrected. 37 “He is just a man who has fabricated a lie against Allah, and we are not going to believe him.” 38 He said, “My Lord! Help me as they deny me.” 39 He said: In a little while they will most certainly be repenting. 40 And the Cry seized them in justice and We made them withered. So begone with the harmdoing nation. 41 AND AFTER them We gave rise to new generations: 42 no community can advance or postpone its appointed time, 43 We sent Our messengers one after the other but whenever a Messenger would come to a nation, its people would call him a liar and We would destroy one nation after the other, thus, only their stories were left behind them. God keeps the unbelievers far away from His Mercy. 44 Then We sent Moses and his brother Aaron, with Our Signs and authority manifest, 45 To Pharaoh and his Chiefs: But these behaved insolently: they were an arrogant people. 46 They said: "Shall we believe in two men like ourselves, and their people are obedient to us with humility (and we use them to serve us as we like)." 47 They called them liars and consequently were destroyed. 48 And We gave Moses the Book, in order that they might receive guidance. 49 And [as We exalted Moses, so, too,] We made the son of Mary and his mother a symbol [of Our grace,] and provided for both an abode in a lofty place of lasting restfulness and unsullied springs. 50
