Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By those [winds] sent forth in gusts 1 Then by oath of those that push with a strong gust. 2 And scatter (things) far and wide; 3 And by the Verses (of the Quran) that separate the right from the wrong. 4 By those who bring down the Reminder, 5 By way of excuse or warning. 6 What is promised will surely come to pass. 7 So when the stars are obliterated 8 And when the heaven is opened 9 The mountains reduced to dust and blown away, 10 and when the messengers are brought together at the appointed time -- 11 to what day shall they be delayed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what could make thee conceive what that Day of Distinction will be? 14 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 15 Did We not destroy the former peoples? 16 So shall We make later (generations) follow them. 17 [for] thus do We deal with such as are lost in sin. 18 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 19 Did We not create you from contemptible water? 20 and place it in a secure place 21 For a period (of gestation), determined (according to need)? 22 Thus We have determined the stages of development and Our power to determine is excellent indeed. 23 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle 25 For the living and the dead. 26 Have We not placed high mountains upon it and filled you with sweet water? 27 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 28 [They will be told], "Proceed to that which you used to deny. 29 "Depart you to a shadow (of Hell-fire smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 "(Which yields) no shade of coolness, and is of no use against the fierce Blaze. 31 which - behold! - will throw up sparks like [burning] logs, 32 As though they were camels yellow tawny. 33 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 34 On that Day they will be speechless, 35 And permission shall not be given to them so that they should offer excuses. 36 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 37 That is the Day of Judgement on which We have assembled you as well as all those who went before you. 38 So if you have a plan, then plan against Me. 39 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 40
