The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun Kuwwirat (wound round and lost its light and is overthrown). 1 And when the stars fall, 2 The mountains made to move, 3 And when the camels are left untended, 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 And when the seas are set on fire, 6 And when the souls he paired, 7 And when the girl buried alive shall be asked: 8 for what offence was she killed? 9 when the scrolls shall be unrolled, 10 when heaven shall be stripped off; 11 and when the blazing fire [of hell] is kindled bright, 12 and when paradise is brought into view: 13 (Then) every person will know what he has brought (of good and evil). 14 But nay! I swear by the stars, 15 Moving swiftly and hiding themselves, 16 And the night when it departs, 17 And the Dawn as it breathes away the darkness;- 18 Most surely it is the Word of an honored messenger, 19 one mighty and held in honour with the Lord of the Throne; 20 Obeyed there [in the heavens] and trustworthy. 21 Nor is your companion distracted. 22 He certainly saw him (Gabriel) high up on the horizon in his original form 23 He is not avid of the Unseen. 24 And the Qur’an is not the recitation of Satan the outcast. 25 Where to are you then heading? 26 This is merely a reminder to all mankind; 27 For whoever wills among you to take a right course. 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Lord of the Universe, so wills it [to show you that way]. 29
