And recite to them the news of Abraham. 69 When he said to his father and his people: What do you worship? 70 They said: "We worship idols, and we remain constantly in attendance on them." 71 He said, "Do they hear you when you supplicate? 72 'Can they benefit you or harm you' 73 They said, "But we found our fathers doing thus." 74 He said: See now that which ye worship, 75 Ye and your forefathers! 76 they are all my enemies, not so the Lord of the Universe, 77 Who hath created me, and He guideth me. 78 and Himself gives me to eat and drink, 79 And when I sicken, then He healeth me. 80 who makes me to die and then revives me, 81 and who I am eager shall forgive me my offence on the Day of Doom. 82 My Lord: Grant me wisdom, and join me with the good 83 and grant me the power to convey the truth unto those who will come after me, 84 Make me inherit the bountiful Paradise. 85 Forgive me and my father: He was surely among those who went astray. 86 And humiliate me not on the Day whereon people shall be raised. 87 The day on which property will not avail, nor sons 88 Except him who brings to Allah a clean heart [clean from Shirk (polytheism) and Nifaq (hypocrisy)]. 89 On the Day of Judgment Paradise will be brought near the pious 90 And hell will be revealed for the astray. 91 They will be asked: "Where are those you worshipped 92 apart from God? Do they help you or help themselves?' 93 So they and all the astray were flung into hell. 94 Together with the hordes of Iblis. 95 They will dispute between themselves therein, and will say, 96 they will say, "By God, we were in clear error 97 when we made you equal with the Lord of the Universe. 98 And none led us astray except the culprits. 99 and we have no intercessors now, 100 nor do we have a truly sincere friend. 101 “So if only were we to go back, in order to become Muslims!” 102 In this there is evidence (of the truth), but many of them do not have any faith. 103 Surely, Your Lord is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 104
