The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ About what are they asking one another? 1 Is it about the awesome tiding 2 Regarding which they hold different views. 3 Nay, they will come to know! 4 again, no indeed; soon will they come to know. 5 Did We not make the earth a spreading, 6 The mountains tent-pins? 7 Have We not created you in pairs, 8 and We have made your sleep [a symbol of] death 9 And We have made the night a covering. 10 and made the day [a symbol of] life. 11 And We have built above you seven strong (heavens), 12 And We made a shining lamp, 13 And We sent down rain from water-laden clouds pouring in torrents 14 that We may bring forth with it grain, plants 15 And gardens thick with trees. 16 Verily the Day of Decision is a time appointed. 17 The Day the Horn is blown and you will come forth in multitudes 18 And the heaven shall be opened, and it will become as gates, 19 The mountains will be driven away and become like mirages. 20 Surely hell lies in wait, 21 A place of resort for the inordinate, 22 They will remain in it for ages. 23 They will not feel cold nor taste any drink 24 Except scalding water and [foul] purulence - 25 An appropriate recompense. 26 They did not expect such a Judgment 27 But they (impudently) treated Our Signs as false. 28 and everything We have numbered in a Book. 29 So taste (the fruit of your deeds). We shall only increase your torment. 30

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
