The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun is covered, 1 And when the stars fall down. 2 And when the mountains shall made to pass away; 3 when ten-month pregnant camels are left untended, 4 when the savage beasts shall be mustered, 5 and when the seas boil over, 6 when the souls shall be rejoined (with their bodies), 7 And when the female (infant) buried alive (as the pagan Arabs used to do) shall be questioned. 8 For what sin she was slain, 9 the records of deeds are made public, 10 And when the heaven is torn away. 11 When the Blazing Fire is kindled to fierce heat; 12 when Paradise shall be brought nigh, 13 [on that Day] every human being will come to know what he has prepared [for himself]. 14 BUT NAY! I call to witness the revolving stars, 15 the runners, the sinkers, 16 by the night swarming, 17 by the dawn sighing, 18 [That] indeed, the Qur'an is a word [conveyed by] a noble messenger 19 Mighty, established in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 One (to be) obeyed, and faithful in trust. 21 And your companion is not [at all] mad. 22 Assuredly he beheld him in the horizon manifest. 23 Nor of the unseen is he a tenacious concealer. 24 And it (the Quran) is not the word of the outcast Shaitan (Satan). 25 where then are you going? 26 It is naught but a reminder for the nations, 27 So let those who want, choose the right guidance 28 And what will you wish, except if Allah wills – the Lord of the Creation. 29
