The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ Of what do they ask one another? 1 About the awesome tidings [of resurrection] 2 Regarding which they hold different views. 3 Indeed, they shall know! 4 Again, by no means! anon they shall know. 5 Have We not made the earth an expanse. 6 and raised the mountains like supporting poles? 7 And We created you in pairs, 8 And made your sleep for rest, 9 made the night as a covering, 10 and We appointed day for a livelihood. 11 And We made above you seven strong ones, 12 And We have set therein lamps glowing. 13 and sent down abundant water from the clouds 14 to make the seeds, plants, 15 And gardens thick with trees. 16 Verily the Day of Decision is a time appointed. 17 It is a Day whereon the trumpet will be blown, and ye will come in multitudes. 18 And the heaven is opened and becometh as gates, 19 And the mountains shall be moved off so that they shall remain a mere semblance. 20 Indeed hell is lying in ambush. 21 a home for the transgressors, 22 In which they will remain for ages [unending]. 23 They will not taste therein cool or any drink. 24 Except hot boiling water and hot pus discharged from the people of hell. 25 for a suitable recompense. 26 Indeed, they did not hope for a Reckoning, 27 and they absolutely belied Our verses, 28 And We have recorded everything in a book, 29 Taste therefore. We shall not increase you in aught but torment. 30
