Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Hath there come unto thee tidings of the Overwhelming? 1 (Some) faces on that day shall be downcast, 2 Travailing, worn. 3 The while they enter the Blazing Fire,- 4 watered at a boiling fountain, 5 They shall have no food but of thorns, 6 unfattening, unappeasing hunger. 7 However, on that day the faces of other people will be happy. 8 well pleased with the result of their striving, 9 in a sublime garden, 10 where they will hear no idle talk, 11 Therein will be a bubbling spring: 12 raised couches, 13 well arranged goblets, 14 And cushions set in rows, 15 and well spread carpets. 16 Look they not at the camels, how they are created? 17 And the heaven, how it is raised? 18 And the hills, how they are set up? 19 And how the earth was outstretched? 20 Then remind them! Thou art only a reminder; 21 You are not a dictator over them. 22 As for those who turn their back and disbelieve, 23 will be punished by God with the greatest punishment. 24 Verily, to Us will be their return; 25 Then surely upon Us is the taking of their account. 26
