Al-Layl
The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the night as it envelops; 1 and by the day as it appears radiantly, 2 And by oath of the One Who created the male and the female. 3 Certainly, your efforts and deeds are diverse (different in aims and purposes); 4 As for him who giveth and is dutiful (toward Allah) 5 and confirms the reward most fair, 6 Unto him therefore We shall indeed make easy the path to ease. 7 But as for him who is niggardly, and thinks that he is self-sufficient, 8 and have no faith in receiving any reward (from God). 9 We shall surely ease for him the Path of Hardship (the Fire). 10 And his riches will not avail him when he falls headlong (into the Abyss). 11 It is indeed for Us to show the way, 12 And verily unto Us (belong) the End and the Beginning. 13 and so I warn you of the raging fire 14 None shall enter it but the most unhappy, 15 who have rejected the (Truth) and have turned away from it. 16 and from which the most godfearing shall be removed, 17 Who gives his wealth in order to be pure. 18 not as payment for favours received, 19 Other than seeking the glory of his Lord, most high, 20 surely, he shall be satisfied. 21
True are the words of God the Almighty.
