The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
READ in the name of thy Sustainer, who has created 1 created Man of a blood-clot. 2 Recite thou: And thy Lord is the Most Bounteous, 3 The One Who taught to write with the pen. 4 taught man what he did not know! 5 By no means: Verily man exorbitateth. 6 for he thinks himself self-sufficient. 7 Surely to your Lord is the return. 8 What thinkest thou? He who forbids 9 a worshiper when he prays. 10 Tell me, if he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) is on the guidance (of Allah)? 11 and enjoins piety? 12 What do you think? Have you seen if he belies and turns away, 13 Does he not know that God observes all things? 14 Nay! If he (Abu Jahl) ceases not, We will catch him by the forelock, 15 by the lying forelock steeped in sin. 16 Then, let him call upon his council (of helpers), 17 We, will call the Zabania (the harsh angels of Hell). 18 Yes indeed; do not listen to him – and prostrate, and become close to Us. (Command of Prostration # 14) ۩ 19
