Al-Duhaa

The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)

11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)

In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful

By the glorious morning light; 1 By the night when it darkeneth, 2 Thy Sustainer has not forsaken thee, nor does He scorn thee: 3 The reward in the next life will certainly be better for you than worldly gains. 4 And indeed, in time will thy Sustainer grant thee [what thy heart desires,] and thou shalt be well-pleased. 5 Did He not find you orphaned and shelter you? 6 And found you deeply engrossed in His love, so directed you? 7 Did He not find thee needy, and suffice thee? 8 As for the orphan, do not oppress him, 9 And as for him who asks, do not chide (him), 10 And keep recounting the favours of your Lord. 11

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
