The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By those who range themselves in ranks, 1 and restraining [from evil] by a call to restraint, 2 and those who recite Our revelations, 3 that your Lord is the only Lord. 4 Lord of the heavens and of the earth and all that is between them, and Lord of the sun's risings. 5 We have indeed adorned the lowest heaven with stars as ornaments. 6 With security from every froward devil. 7 These satans cannot listen to what transpires in the High Council for they are pelted away from every side 8 They are rejected and theirs is an everlasting punishment; 9 Except one who snatches [some words] by theft, but they are pursued by a burning flame, piercing [in brightness]. 10 Therefore ask them (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), “Are they a stronger creation, or are other things of our creation, (the angels, the heavens etc.)?” We have indeed created them from sticky clay. 11 Rather you are surprised, whereas they keep mocking. 12 And when they are reminded, they pay no attention. 13 When they are shown a sign, they scoff at it 14 And they say: "This is nothing but evident magic! 15 When we have died and become dust and bones, are we indeed to be resurrected? 16 and perhaps also our forebears of old?" 17 Say: 'Yes, and in all lowliness.' 18 The Day of Judgment will come within a single roar and they will remain gazing at it. 19 They will say: "Woe to us! This is the Day of Recompense!" 20 This is the Day of Decision which you belied. 21
