The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
When the sun is folded up, 1 And when the stars shall dart down, 2 and when the mountains are made to vanish, 3 The ten-month pregnant female camels are abandoned, 4 the wild beasts are herded together, 5 And when the seas are set on fire, 6 and when all human beings are coupled [with their deeds,] 7 And when the girl [who was] buried alive is asked 8 for what offence was she killed? 9 When the scrolls are laid open; 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped, 11 When Hell is set ablaze, 12 And when the Garden is brought near;- 13 A soul will [then] know what it has brought [with it]. 14 But nay! I swear by the stars, 15 stars which are visible during the night 16 And by the night as it closes in 17 and the first breath of morning. 18 [That] indeed, the Qur'an is a word [conveyed by] a noble messenger 19 who is honored in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 who is obeyed there and is worthy of trust. 21 And (O people!) your companion is not one possessed; 22 he indeed saw the message-bearer on the clear horizon; 23 nor does he grudge (conveying this knowledge about) the Unseen; 24 nor is it a word of an accursed Satan. 25 When whither go ye? 26 It is not except a reminder to the worlds 27 So let those who want, choose the right guidance 28 And you do not will except that Allah wills - Lord of the worlds. 29
