The News (Al-Naba')
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Concerning what are they disputing? 1 About the great event, 2 concerning which they have disputes. 3 Nay, but in time they will come to understand [it]! 4 Again surely yes, they will soon come to know! 5 Did We not make the earth a bed? 6 and raised the mountains like supporting poles? 7 And We created you in pairs, 8 and We appointed your sleep for a rest; 9 And made the night as a covering, 10 And the day for seeking livelihood. 11 And We built above you seven strong ones, 12 and We appointed a blazing lamp 13 And then sent down hard rain from the water bearing clouds. 14 That We may produce therewith corn and vegetations, 15 And gardens of thick foliage. 16 Surely the Day of Judgement has an appointed time; 17 The Day the Horn is blown and you will come forth in multitudes 18 and heaven is opened, having gates, 19 And the mountains shall vanish, as if they were a mirage. 20 Verily the Hell is an ambuscade: 21 A home for the rebellious. 22 They will abide therein for ages, 23 They shall not taste therein cool nor drink 24 Except hot boiling water and hot pus discharged from the people of hell. 25 a meet requital [for their sins]! 26 For that they used not to fear any account (for their deeds), 27 And they belied Our revelations with strong belying. 28 but We have placed on record every single thing [of what they did]. 29 'Taste! We shall not increase you except in punishment' 30
