The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the mount. 1 And the Book written 2 On fine parchment unrolled, 3 by the much-frequented House, 4 by the high ceiling (heaven), 5 and the sea swarming, 6 Indeed your Lord’s punishment will surely take place. 7 there is no one who could avert it, 8 [It will come to pass] on the Day when the skies will be convulsed in [a great] convulsion, 9 and the mountains quickly move. 10 Woe, then, will be on that Day to the beliers 11 and who indulged in false disputes against (God's revelations). 12 The day they are dragged and pushed into Hell, 13 "This is the fire which you were wont to call a lie! 14 Is it magic or do you not still see? 15 Roast in it. Bear it with patience or impatience, it will be the same for you. You will be requited for what you had done." 16 Those who fear God and follow the straight path will surely be in gardens and in bliss, 17 Enjoying the (Bliss) which their Lord hath bestowed on them, and their Lord shall deliver them from the Penalty of the Fire. 18 [They will be told], "Eat and drink in satisfaction for what you used to do." 19 Reclining on thrones, in rows; and We have wedded them to maidens with gorgeous eyes. 20 And those who accepted faith, and whose descendants followed them with faith – We have joined their descendants with them, and have not reduced anything for them from their deeds; every soul is trapped in its own deeds. 21 And We aided them with fruit and meat, whatever they desire. 22 There, they shall pass from hand to hand a cup which does not lead to any idle talk or sin. 23 ۞ There will circulate among them [servant] boys [especially] for them, as if they were pearls well-protected. 24 And some of them draw near to others, questioning. 25 Saying, “Indeed before this, we were in our houses, worried.” 26 Wherefore Allah hath obliged us, and hath protected us from the torment of the Scorch. 27 we were before ever calling upon Him; surely He is the All-benign, the All-compassionate.' 28
