Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the scatterers (the wind) scattering, 1 And those that bear the burden (of the rain) 2 which then smoothly speed along, 3 And those that distribute and apportion by Command;- 4 Verily the promise made to you is true: 5 and, verily, judgment is bound to come! 6 And by oath of the decorated heaven. 7 You are surely caught in contradictions., 8 Turned aside therefrom is who is turned aside. 9 Woe to the falsehood-mongers,- 10 who are steeped in ignorance and heedlessness. 11 They ask: when is the Day of Requital coming? 12 On that Day they shall be tried at the Fire, 13 "Taste your trial. This is what you sought to hasten." 14 Lo! those who keep from evil will dwell amid gardens and watersprings, 15 Accepting the rewards given by their Lord; they were indeed virtuous before this. 16 They used to sleep but little of the night, 17 and in the mornings they would ask for forgiveness; 18 And in their property was a portion due to him who begs and to him who is denied (good). 19 And on the earth are signs for the certain [in faith] 20 As also in your own selves: Will ye not then see? 21 And in the heaven is your provision, and that which you are promised. 22 for, by the Sustainer of heaven and earth, this [life after death] is the very truth - as true as that you are endowed with speech! 23
