The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the Occurrence occurs, 1 There is no denying that it will befall - 2 some shall be abased and others exalted. 3 When the earth is shaken 4 And the hills are ground to powder 5 And become dust dispersing. 6 you shall be divided into three parties, 7 The people of the right hand - those whose books of records will be placed in their right hands. How happy they will be! 8 And those on the left – how (wretched) are those on the left! 9 And those foremost [(in Islamic Faith of Monotheism and in performing righteous deeds) in the life of this world on the very first call for to embrace Islam,] will be foremost (in Paradise). 10 These will be those Nearest to Allah: 11 in the Gardens of Delight 12 A numerous company from among the first, 13 and a lesser number from the later generations. 14 They (will be seated) on gold-encrusted couches, 15 reclining upon them, set face to face, 16 Round about them shall go youths never altering in age, 17 with goblets and ewers, and a cup from a spring 18 Wherefrom they will get neither any aching of the head, nor any intoxication. 19 Also, they will be served with the fruits of their choice 20 and the flesh of birds, as they desire. 21 and fair maidens with large, lustrous eyes 22 The likenesses of pearls well-protected, 23 A reward for what they used to do. 24 They will not hear therein any vain or sinful talk, 25 Nought but the saying: peace! peace! 26 As for the people of the right hand, how happy they will be! 27 (They will be) among thornless lote-trees, 28 And banana-trees (with fruits), one above another. 29 In shade long-extended, 30 And water poured out 31 And fruits numberless, 32 never-failing and never out of reach. 33 And carpets raised. 34 We have formed them in a distinctive fashion, 35 and made them virgins, 36 intensely loving and of matching age. 37 For those on the right hand; 38
