The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By oath of those who harshly pull out the soul. (Of the disbeliever) 1 And [by] those who remove with ease 2 And who glide with ease. 3 and vie with the others (in carrying out their Lord's behests); 4 by those that direct an affair! 5 On the day when the first trumpet sound blasts 6 to be followed by further [convulsions], 7 On that day hearts beat painfully 8 while eyes will be downcast. 9 They say: shall we indeed be restored to the first state, 10 Even if we should be decayed bones? 11 They say: Then that would be a vain proceeding. 12 So that is not but a single shout. 13 When, behold, they find themselves over the earth alive after their death, 14 Has not there come to you the story of Musa? 15 When his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa. 16 saying 'Go to Pharaoh, he has become exceedingly insolent, 17 and say [unto him,] 'Art thou desirous of attaining to purity? 18 Then I shall guide thee unto thy Lord so that thou shalt fear. 19 He showed him the mighty sign, 20 But he denied and disobeyed, 21 Then he turned back striving. 22 And he summoned all his people, 23 And then said, “I am your most supreme lord.” 24 Thereupon Allah seized him for the chastisement of the World to Come as well as of the present. 25 Surely, in this there is a lesson for he that fears! 26
