The Moon (Al-Qamar)
55 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Comet (Al-Taareq) before S (Saad)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
The Hour has drawn near, and the moon has been cleft asunder (the people of Makkah requested Prophet Muhammad SAW to show them a miracle, so he showed them the splitting of the moon). 1 Yet if they see a sign (the unbelievers) turn their backs and say: 'This is but a continuation of sorcery' 2 And they denied and followed their inclinations. But for every matter is a [time of] settlement. 3 And there have come to them such tidings as contain a deterrent -- 4 Consummate wisdom-- but warnings do not avail; 5 Therefore turn away from them; on the day when the announcer will call towards a severe unknown matter – 6 They will come out from the graves with eyes lowered, as if they were spread locusts. 7 running (with their necks extended) to the Caller. The unbelievers will say: 'This is indeed a harsh Day' 8 ۞ The people of Noah denied before them, and they denied Our servant and said, "A madman," and he was repelled. 9 Then he invoked his Lord (saying): "I have been overcome, so help (me)!" 10 Thereupon We opened the gates of the sky for water to pour down, 11 And We caused the earth to gush forth with springs. So the waters (of the heaven and the earth) met for a matter predestined. 12 And We carried Nooh upon a ship of wooden planks and nails. 13 Sailing under Our observation as reward for he who had been denied. 14 And certainly We left it as a sign, but is there anyone who 15 But how (terrible) was My Penalty and My Warning? 16 And assuredly We have made the Qur'an easy for admonition; is there then any one who would be admonished? 17 'Aad denied; and how [severe] were My punishment and warning. 18 Surely We sent on them a tornado in a day of bitter ill-luck 19 Plucking out men as if they were roots of palm-trees torn up (from the ground). 20 Then, how (terrible) was My Torment and My Warnings? 21 And We have indeed made the Qur’an easy to memorise, so is there one who would remember? 22

كيف تعمل منظومة تمارين الحفظ؟ عند أدنى مستوى 0، تكون كل الكلمات ظاهرة. بينما يُخفي أعلى مستوى 9 كل الكلمات. فكيف تعمل المستويات المتوسطة، مثل 3، على سبيل المثال؟ قد تعتقد بأن المنظومة تخفي 3 من كل تسع كلمات بدقة. ليس تماما! في المستوى 3، لكل كلمة فرصة اختفاء بنسبة 3 من 9، و6 من 9 لتكون ظاهرة. بمعنى آخر، من الممكن، ولكن باحتمال شبة معدوم، أن تكون جميع كلمات المستوى 3 مخفية، أو أن تكون جميعها ظاهرة! وكذلك أيضًا، ففي المستويات المتوسطة، وبما يتناسب مع مستوى الصعوبة، يمكن أن تكون المخابئ غير كاملة أو شفافة جزئيًا بحيث تظهر الكلمات جزئيًا تحتها.
How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
