Unknown Person (Al-Muzzammil)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
O thou enwrapped in thy robes, 1 Stand up in Prayer by night, all but a small part of it; 2 half of it, or reduce it a little; 3 Or a little more; and recite the Quran (aloud) in a slow, (pleasant tone and) style. 4 For We are about to send down to you a message of considerable gravity. 5 Indeed, the first part of night is heavier in tread, and more upright in speech. 6 You have by day prolonged occupations [with Dawah work]. 7 But keep in remembrance the name of thy Lord and devote thyself to Him whole-heartedly. 8 Lord of the East and the West; there is no Allah save Him; so choose thou Him alone for thy defender - 9 and endure with patience whatever people may say [against thee,] and avoid them with a comely avoidance. 10 And leave Me Alone to deal with the beliers (those who deny My Verses, etc.), and those who are in possession of good things of life. And give them respite for a little while. 11 Indeed We have heavy fetters and a blazing fire. 12 And food which choketh (the partaker), and a painful doom 13 (They will come across all this) on the Day when the earth and the mountains shall tremble violently and the mountains shall crumble into heaps of scattered sand. 14 We have sent a messenger who is a witness over you, just as We sent a messenger to Pharoah before you. 15 But Pharoah rebelled against the messenger, so We seized him with a strong, crushing grip. 16 Then how can you avoid the punishment, if you disbelieve, on a Day that will make the children grey-headed (i.e. the Day of Resurrection)? 17 the Day whose severity shall cause the heaven to split asunder? Allah's promise is ever bound to be fulfilled. 18 Verily, this is an admonition, therefore whosoever will, let him take a Path to His Lord! 19
