Whenever We sent a prophet to a town, We took up its people in suffering and adversity, in order that they might learn humility. 94 then We gave them in the place of evil good, till they multiplied, and said, 'Hardship and happiness visited our fathers.' So We seized them suddenly, unawares. 95 And if the people of the towns had believed and had the Taqwa (piety), certainly, We should have opened for them blessings from the heaven and the earth, but they belied (the Messengers). So We took them (with punishment) for what they used to earn (polytheism and crimes, etc.). 96 Are the people of the townships then secure that Our wrath would not come upon them at night while they are slumbering? 97 or that which could seize them during their busy hours of the day? 98 Did they then feel secure against the plan of Allah?- but no one can feel secure from the Plan of Allah, except those (doomed) to ruin! 99
