O Ye who believe! obey Allah and His apostle and turn not away therefrom while ye hearken. 20 Be not as those who say, we hear, and they hear not. 21 ۞ The most wicked beasts in the sight of God are the deaf and the dumb who have no understanding. 22 And if Allah had known any good in them He would have made them hear, and if He makes them hear they would turn back while they withdraw. 23 Believers! Respond to Allah, and respond to the Messenger when he calls you to that which gives you life. Know well that Allah stands between a man and his heart, and it is to Him that all of you shall be mustered. 24 And fear the Fitnah (affliction and trial, etc.) which affects not in particular (only) those of you who do wrong (but it may afflict all the good and the bad people), and know that Allah is Severe in punishment. 25 And remember, when ye were few and reckoned feeble in the land, and were in fear lest men should extirpate you, how He gave you refuge, and strengthened you with His help, and made provision of good things for you, that haply ye might be thankful. 26 Believers, do not betray Allah and the Messenger, nor knowingly betray your trust. 27 Know that your possessions and children are a temptation for you and that God has the greatest reward (for the righteous ones). 28
