The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers. 1 Who are humble in their prayers, 2 and who turn away from all that is frivolous, 3 And who pay the (obligatory) charity. 4 who strictly guard their private parts 5 save from their wives and what their right hands own then being not blameworthy 6 But whoever seeks to go beyond that, these are they that exceed the limits; 7 Those who faithfully observe their trusts and their covenants; 8 and those who attend to their prayers; 9 These are the heirs 10 who will inherit Paradise; they shall live there for ever. 11 Man We did create from a quintessence (of clay); 12 then We placed him as a drop of fluid in a safe place, 13 then We created of the drop a clot then We created of the clot a tissue then We created of the tissue bones then We garmented the bones in flesh; thereafter We produced him as another creature. So blessed be God, the fairest of creators! 14 Then verily, thereafter, ye are sure to die. 15 and then on the Day of Resurrection you shall certainly be raised up. 16 And assuredly We created above you seven paths, and of the creation We have not been neglectful. 17 We have sent a measure of water from the sky to stay on earth and We have the power to take it away. 18 Then We produce for you therewith gardens of date-palms and grapes, wherein is much fruit for you and whereof ye eat; 19 And also a tree that springeth forth from mount Sinai, that groweth oil and is a sauce for the eaters. 20 And indeed, for you in livestock is a lesson. We give you drink from that which is in their bellies, and for you in them are numerous benefits, and from them you eat. 21 And on them and on the ship ye are carried. 22
