Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the winds that scatter the dust, 1 and the burden-bearers 2 And those that flow with ease and gentleness; 3 And the angels who distribute the affair. 4 indeed, that which you are promised is true, 5 and surely the Doom is about to fall! 6 The heavens webbed-with-tracks is witness 7 surely you speak at variance, 8 Through which are deluded (away from the Truth) such as would be deluded. 9 Accursed be the conjecturers 10 and who wander in the abyss of confusion. 11 They ask, “When will be the Day of Judgement?” 12 [It is] the Day they will be tormented over the Fire 13 Taste your burning: this is that which ye sought to be hastened. 14 The righteous shall live among gardens and fountains, 15 Taking joy in the things which their Lord has given them. Verily, they were before this Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 16 they would lie asleep during but a small part of the night, 17 praying at dawn for God's pardon, 18 And in their substance was the right of the beggar and non-beggar. 19 For those with sure belief there are signs in the earth, 20 And within yourselves. Can you not perceive? 21 And in heaven is your Sustenance, as (also) that which ye are promised. 22 By the Lord of the heaven and the earth, it is certainly the truth. It is as true as your ability to speak. 23
