Nay! By the moon 32 by the retreating night, 33 By the dawn when it lightens! 34 Verily, that [hell-fire] is Indeed one of the great [forewarnings] 35 As a warning to humanity - 36 Unto him of you who will advance or hang back. 37 Every soul is pledged to what it does, 38 except the Companions of the Right. 39 In Gardens; they shall be asking, 40 And (ask) of the Sinners: 41 What led you into the Scorching Fire? 42 They will reply: 'We were not among those who prayed 43 And did not feed the needy, 44 And we have been wading with the waders. 45 and we denied the Day of Judgement 46 Until the certainty (of death) had come upon us. 47 So the intercession of intercessors shall not avail them. 48 Then what is wrong with them (i.e. the disbelievers) that they turn away from (receiving) admonition? 49 As if they were frightened (wild) donkeys. 50 Fleeing away from a lion. 51 Nay, but everyone of them desireth that he should be given open pages (from Allah). 52 No! But they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 By no means! Verily this Qur'an is an admonition. 54 Then whoever wills will remember it. 55 No one will seek guidance unless God wills it. He alone is worthy of being feared and He is the Source of Forgiveness. 56
