The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the (angels) who tear out (the souls of the wicked) with violence; 1 And those who undo the bonds gently, 2 And those who glide swimmingly, 3 by those that outstrip them suddenly, 4 And then they manage the affair, 5 The day on which the quaking one shall quake, 6 There will follow it the subsequent [one]. 7 Hearts on that Day will be throbbing; 8 Cast down will be (their owners') eyes. 9 They say: Shall we indeed be restored to (our) first state? 10 "What! - when we shall have become rotten bones?" 11 They have said, "Such a resurrection will certainly be a great loss". 12 Surely they will need no more than a single stern blast, 13 And lo! they will be awakened. 14 Hast thou received the story of Moses? 15 Behold, thy Lord did call to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa:- 16 "Go to the Pharaoh who has become refractory, 17 And say to him: "Would you purify yourself (from the sin of disbelief by becoming a believer)", 18 And I will guide you to your Lord so that you should fear. 19 So he showed him the greater sign; 20 But he denied and disobeyed, 21 then he turned away hastily, 22 and gathered his people and declared: 23 and said, "I am your Lord All-Highest!" 24 So God seized him with the chastisement of the Last World and the First. 25 Truly there is a lesson in this for those who fear (the consequences). 26
