The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
There was certainly a time when there was no mention of the human being. 1 Verily, We have created man from Nutfah drops of mixed semen (discharge of man and woman), in order to try him, so We made him hearer, seer. 2 Surely We guided him upon the way whether he be thankful or unthankful. 3 Indeed, We have prepared for the disbelievers chains and shackles and a blaze. 4 Surely the devotees will drink cups flavoured with palm blossoms 5 a fountain at which the worshipers of Allah drink and make it gush forth abundantly; 6 They fulfil their pledges, and fear a day the evil of which is widespread. 7 who give food, for the love of Him to the needy, the orphan, and the captive, 8 Saying: we feed you only for the sake of Allah; we desire not from you any recompense or thanks. 9 "We only fear a Day of distressful Wrath from the side of our Lord." 10 So Allah will save them from the evil of that Day and has secured for them radiance and joyfulness, 11 and will reward them for all their patience in adversity with a garden [of bliss] and with [garments of] silk. 12 Reclining therein upon couches, they will find there neither (heat of) a sun nor bitter cold. 13 And close down upon them (shall be) its shadows, and its fruits shall be made near (to them), being easy to reach. 14 And there shall be made to go round about them vessels of silver and goblets which are of glass, 15 goblets bright as crystal but made of silver, filled to exact measure. 16 And in that [paradise] they will be given to drink of a cup flavoured with ginger, 17 From a spring by the name of Ever-flowing-Salsabil. 18 ۞ And boys of everlasting youth will go about attending them. Looking at them you would think that they were pearls dispersed. 19 and when thou seest [anything that is] there thou wilt see [only] bliss and a realm transcendent 20 Their raiment will be fine green silk and gold embroidery. Bracelets of silver will they wear. Their Lord will slake their thirst with a pure drink. 21 Verily this is for you by way of recompense, and your endeavour hath been accepted. 22
