Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the (Winds) that scatter broadcast; 1 and those that bear the burden [of the rain], 2 then the easy runners (the ships); 3 And those that distribute and apportion by Command;- 4 Indeed, what you are promised is true. 5 And verily Judgment and Justice must indeed come to pass. 6 By the heaven full of paths, 7 You are indeed in different opinions regarding this Qur’an. 8 He is made to turn away from it who is (himself) averse. 9 Cursed be the liars, 10 Those who have forgotten in a state of intoxication. 11 They ask; "When will be the Day of Recompense?" 12 (It is) the day on which they shall be tried at the fire. 13 "Taste your trial. This is what you sought to hasten." 14 Surely the God-fearing will find themselves in the midst of gardens and springs. 15 Taking joy in the things which their Lord gives them, because, before then, they lived a good life. 16 They used to sleep but little by night [invoking their Lord (Allah) and praying, with fear and hope]. 17 And in the hour of early dawn, they (were found) praying for Forgiveness; 18 and the beggar and the outcast had a share in their wealth. 19 There are signs in the earth for those who are firm in their faith, 20 and in your selves; what, do you not see? 21 In the heavens there is your sustenance and that which you were promised (Paradise). 22 Then, by the Lord of the heaven and the earth, it is the truth (i.e. what has been promised to you), just as it is the truth that you can speak. 23
