Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
60 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Dunes (Al-Ahqaaf) before Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the winds that scatter the dust, 1 and the burden-bearers 2 And those that flow with ease and gentleness; 3 Then by oath of those which distribute by the command. 4 surely what you are being warned against is true, 5 and surely the Doom is about to fall! 6 by the heaven full of tracks, 7 You are surely caught in contradictions., 8 From which only he turns who is turned away. 9 Cursed be the liars, 10 Who are within a flood [of confusion] and heedless. 11 They ask: "When is the Day of Judgement?" -- 12 It will be the Day whereon in the Fire they will be burned 13 Taste your burning: this is that which ye sought to be hastened. 14 Lo! those who keep from evil will dwell amid gardens and watersprings, 15 taking whatsoever their Lord has given them; they were good-doers before that. 16 Little of the night would they slumber, 17 and would pray for forgiveness from their innermost hearts; 18 and the beggar and the outcast had a share in their wealth. 19 And on the earth are signs for those who have Faith with certainty, 20 and in your selves; what, do you not see? 21 And in the heaven is your sustenance and what you are threatened with. 22 So by the Lord of heaven and earth, it is as surely true as that you have speech. 23
