Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)

۞ The Resurrection Verifier; 1 What is the Reality? 2 What do you comprehend by the concrete reality? 3 The tribes of Thamud and 'Ad denied that disaster would strike them: 4 Thamood, they were destroyed by the violent shout (of Gabriel), 5 as for Aad, they were destroyed by a howling, violent wind 6 Which He imposed on them for seven long nights and eight long days so that thou mightest have seen men lying overthrown, as they were hollow trunks of palm-trees. 7 Do you see any trace of them? 8 And Firaun, and those before him, and the dwellings that were inverted and thrown, had brought error. 9 They did not follow the Messenger of their Lord, and so He seized them with a severe grip. 10 And when the waters rose (high) We carried you in the sailing (Ark), 11 that We might make it a reminder for you and for heeding ears to hold. 12 With the first blast of sound from the trumpet, 13 And the earth and the mountains are borne away and crushed with a single crushing. 14 on that Day the Great Event will come to pass. 15 And the heaven shall cleave asunder, so that on that day it shall be frail, 16 And the angels shall be on the sides thereof; and above them eight shall bear on that day your Lord's power. 17 On that Day you will be brought to judgement and none of your secrets will remain hidden. 18 Then as to him who will be vouchsafed his book in his right hand, he shall say: here! read my book! 19 "Surely, I did believe that I shall meet my Account!" 20 So he shall be in a life of pleasure, 21 In a Garden lofty. 22 Clusters whereof shall be near at hand. 23 (It will be said): 'Eat and drink with a good appetite because of what you did in days long passed' 24 However, those who will receive the books of the records of their deeds in their left hands will say, "We wish that this record had never been given to us 25 And knew not what my reckoning! 26 "I wish, would that it had been my end (death)! 27 "My wealth has not availed me, 28 "My power and arguments (to defend myself) have gone from me!" 29 (The stern command will say): "Seize ye him, and bind ye him, 30 "And burn ye him in the Blazing Fire. 31 Then into a chain whose length is seventy cubits insert him." 32 He did not believe in God the supreme, 33 "And would not encourage the feeding of the indigent! 34 Wherefore for him here this Day there is no friend. 35 Nor food other than suppuration (filth) 36 “Which none except the guilty shall eat.” 37
