Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the Sky is cleft asunder; 1 and when the stars are scattered, 2 when the oceans are gushed forth, 3 when the graves are overturned, 4 A soul will know what it hath sent before (it) and what left behind. 5 O man! What has deceived you away from your Lord, the Most Beneficent? 6 who created thee and shaped thee and wrought thee in symmetry 7 in whatever form He pleased? 8 Yet you deny the Last Judgement. 9 Lo! there are above you guardians, 10 watching over you 11 who know whatever you do. 12 Behold, [in the life to come] the truly virtuous: will indeed be in bliss, 13 and the libertines shall be in a fiery furnace 14 They will burn in it on the Day of Judgement, 15 And they shall by no means be absent from it. 16 How can you comprehend what the Day of Judgement is? 17 Again, what will make you realize what the day of judgment is? 18 The day on which no soul will have the authority over any other soul; and on that day, the entire command belongs to Allah. 19
