The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By oath of those who harshly pull out the soul. 1 and those that draw out violently, 2 by the swimmers (angels) swimming gently 3 by those that outstrip them suddenly, 4 And those who arrange [each] matter, 5 On the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world], 6 and the second blast follows it, 7 hearts will be throbbing, 8 While eyes are downcast 9 They say: “Shall we indeed be restored to life, 10 even after we are fragmented bones' 11 and they say, "That indeed would be a losing return." 12 It will be only one scaring shout, 13 When, behold, they find themselves over the earth alive after their death, 14 (Muhammad), have you heard the story of Moses 15 When his Lord called to him in the holy valley, Towa: 16 Saying: go thou unto Fir'awn; verily he hath waxen exorbitant. 17 And say to him, "Would you like to reform yourself? 18 Then I shall guide thee unto thy Lord so that thou shalt fear. 19 And thereupon he [went to Pharaoh and] made him aware of the great wonder [of God's grace]. 20 In response, he denied and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned his back, striving. 22 So he gathered the people, and proclaimed. 23 Saying: "I am alone your lord, the highest of them all." 24 But Allah did punish him, (and made an) example of him, - in the Hereafter, as in this life. 25 Lo! herein is indeed a lesson for him who feareth. 26
