Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 No! I swear by the reproachful soul! 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 Yea indeed, We are able to make whole his very finger-tips! 4 But man desires to persist in his evil ways. 5 He asks: "When will be this Day of Resurrection?" 6 When, then, the sight shall be confounded. 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 and the sun and moon are brought together, 9 on that Day man will ask, "Where can I escape?" 10 No, there shall be no (place of) refuge. 11 Unto your Lord (Alone) will be the place of rest that Day. 12 On that day, man will be informed of all what he sent ahead and left behind. 13 Aye! man against himself shall be an enlightenment. 14 Even though he were to put up his excuses. 15 Stir not thy tongue herewith to hasten it. 16 Lo! upon Us (resteth) the putting together thereof and the reading thereof. 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation (by Us). 18 And thereafter verily upon us is the expounding thereof. 19 But no. You love this transient life, 20 And you have forsaken the Hereafter. 21 On the Day of Judgment some faces will be bright, 22 Looking at their Lord (Allah); 23 And how many faces on that Day will be woe-begone 24 In the thought that some back-breaking calamity was about to be inflicted on them; 25 But, when (the soul) reaches the collar bone 26 And it is said, "Who will cure [him]?" 27 And he knoweth that it is the parting; 28 when his legs are brought together [when affliction is combined with affliction]; 29 on that Day he will be driven towards your Lord! 30
