And recite unto them the story of Ibrahim. 69 When he said unto his father and his people: what worship ye? 70 They said: we worship idols, and we are unto them ever devoted 71 He said: "Do they hear you, when you call (on them)? 72 or do they cause you any benefit or harm?" 73 They said, 'Nay, but we found our fathers so doing.' 74 He said, “Do you see these – (the idols) whom you worship?” 75 you, and your elderly fathers? 76 "Verily! They are enemies to me, save the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists); 77 “The One Who created me, so He will guide me.” 78 “And the One Who feeds me and gives me to drink.” 79 "And when I am ill, it is He who cures me. 80 "And Who will cause me to die, and then will bring me to life (again); 81 and whom I am eager shall forgive me my sins on the Day of Recompense' 82 "O my Sustainer! Endow me with the ability to judge [between right and wrong,] and make me one with the righteous, 83 And ordain for me a goodly mention among posterity 84 and place me among those who shall inherit the garden of bliss! 85 and forgive my father for he is among those who strayed, 86 Do not betray me 87 on the Day of Judgment when neither wealth nor children will be of any benefit 88 Except him who comes to Allah with a heart free (from evil). 89 On the Day of Judgment Paradise will be brought near the pious 90 "And to those straying in Evil, the Fire will be placed in full view; 91 It will be said to them: 'Where is that you worshipped, 92 other than Allah? Do they help you or even help themselves' 93 So they and all the astray were flung into hell. 94 And the hosts of the Shaitan, all. 95 They will say while contending therein, 96 they will say, "By God, we were in clear error 97 when we made you equal with the Lord of the Worlds. 98 Only the sinful ones made us go astray. 99 We have no intercessors now, 100 nor any loving friend. 101 Would that we could have a chance to live again so that we might become believers." 102 Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. 103 Your Lord is certainly Majestic and All-merciful. 104
