This, (Quran), is certainly the revelation from the Lord of the Universe. 192 The Trustworthy Spirit has brought it down 193 Upon your heart, [O Muhammad] - that you may be of the warners - 194 (a revelation) in clear Arabic language, 195 Surely, it is foretold in the ancient scriptures. 196 Is it not evidence enough for them that the learned among the Children of Israel have recognized this [as true]? 197 Had We revealed it to a man of obscure tongue 198 and had he recited it unto them [in his own tongue,] they would not have believed in it. 199 Thus have We inserted disbelief into the hearts of the criminals. 200 They will not believe therein until they behold the torment afflictive. 201 So that it will come upon them suddenly, when they perceive not. 202 and they will say, 'Shall we be respited?' 203 Do they then ask for Our Penalty to be hastened on? 204 Seest thou? If We do let them enjoy (this life) for a few years, 205 then there comes on them that they were promised, 206 So of what benefit will be the comforts that they were using? 207 We never destroyed any town without first sending to them warning and guidance. 208 By way of admonition, and We have never been oppressors. 209 It was not the satans who brought it down: 210 It is not meet for them, nor is it in their power, 211 Indeed they, from [its] hearing, are removed. 212 So call on no other god but God, lest you are condemned to torment; 213 And warn thy tribe of near kindred, 214 And be kind and humble to the believers who follow you. 215 but if they disobey thee, say: "I am free of responsibility for aught that you may do!" 216 Put your trust in the Mighty One, the Merciful, 217 who sees thee when thou standest 218 And your movements among those who bow in homage to God. 219 He is All-hearing and All-knowing." 220 Shall I tell you on whom the satans descend? 221 They descend on every lying (one who tells lies), sinful person. 222 They listen, but most of them are liars. 223 As for the poets - it is the seduced who follow them. 224 Have you not seen how they wander in every valley, 225 And they speak what they do not do? 226 Save those who believe and do good works, and remember Allah much, and vindicate themselves after they have been wronged. Those who do wrong will come to know by what a (great) reverse they will be overturned! 227
