Surely the people of al-Hijr also rejected the Messengers, calling them liars. 80 And We gave them Our signs, and they remained averse to them. 81 And they hewed houses in the mountains in security. 82 Then the Blast caught them in the morning 83 and of no avail to them was all [the power] that they had acquired. 84 We created not the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, save in truth. Surely the Hour is coming; so pardon thou, with a gracious pardoning. 85 Verify thy Lord! He is the Great Creator, the Knower. 86 And indeed We have given you seven verses that are repeated, and the great Qur’an. 87 [so] turn, not thine eyes [longingly] towards the worldly benefits which We have granted unto some of those [that deny the truth]. And neither grieve over those [who refuse to heed thee,] but spread the wings of thy tenderness over the believers, 88 And say: "I am indeed he that warneth openly and without ambiguity,"- 89 Such as We send down for those who make division, 90 and who have broken the Scripture into fragments -- 91 Therefore, by the Lord, We will, of a surety, call them to account, 92 About all what they used to do. 93 Therefore expound openly what thou art commanded, and turn away from those who join false gods with Allah. 94 Truly! We will suffice you against the scoffers. 95 and believe other things to be equal to God. They will soon know the truth. 96 We do indeed know how thy heart is distressed at what they say. 97 Proclaim thy Lord's praise, and be of those that bow, 98 Worship your Lord until you achieve the ultimate certainty. 99
