The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
When the sun is covered, 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 The mountains made to move, 3 And when the pregnant she-camels shall be neglected; 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 the oceans are brought to a boil, 6 And when the souls he paired, 7 And when the girl [who was] buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was slain. 9 the records of deeds are made public, 10 when the sky is unveiled, 11 And when Hell-fire shall be kindled to fierce ablaze. 12 when Paradise is brought near, 13 (Then) every soul will know what it had prepared (for itself). 14 I swear by the receding stars, 15 Moving swiftly and hiding themselves, 16 And the night when it departs, 17 and the morn as it softly breathes: 18 Verily, this is the Word (this Quran brought by) a most honourable messenger [Jibrael (Gabriel), from Allah to the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him)]. 19 with strength endowed, secure with Him who in almightiness is enthroned 20 With authority there, (and) faithful to his trust. 21 Your companion is not one possessed: 22 He certainly saw him (Gabriel) high up on the horizon in his original form 23 He is not avid of the Unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of a satan accursed. 25 where then are you going? 26 That is but an advice to the entire creation! 27 For him among you who pleases to go straight. 28 Though you cannot desire except as God will, the Lord of all the worlds. 29
