Hath the story of Abraham's honoured guests reached thee (O Muhammad)? 24 When they came to him, they said: “Peace”; he said: “Peace also be to you; (you seem to be) a group of strangers.” 25 He went quietly to his wife and returned to his guests with a fat, roasted calf. 26 He then presented it before them and said, “Do you not eat?” 27 And he felt from them apprehension. They said, "Fear not," and gave him good tidings of a learned boy. 28 So his wife came screaming, and striking her forehead cried, “What! For a barren old woman?” 29 They said: “So has your Lord said (that you shall have a boy). Surely He is Most Wise, All-Knowing.” 30 ۞ Said Ibrahim, “What is your task, O the sent angels?” 31 They said, 'We have been sent to a people of sinners, 32 to let loose upon them stone-hard blows of chastisement, 33 “That are kept marked, with your Lord, for the transgressors.” 34 So We brought the believers out of that they were in. 35 – and We did not find there any, apart from a single house of Muslims – 36 And We left therein a sign for those who fear the afflictive torment. 37 There is another sign in Moses: We sent him to Pharaoh with clear authority. 38 but he turned his back, with his court, saying, 'A sorcerer, or a man possessed!' 39 Then We seized him and his army and cast them all into the sea: he himself [Pharaoh] was to blame. 40 And also in Ad, when We loosed against them the withering wind 41 It spared nothing that it reached, but blew it into broken spreads of rotten ruins. 42 And in Samood: When it was said to them: Enjoy yourselves for a while. 43 But they insolently defied the Command of their Lord, so the Sa'iqah overtook them while they were looking. 44 and they were not able to stand upright, and were not helped. 45 So were the People of Noah before them for they wickedly transgressed. 46
