The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
(On the day) when the sun is made to cease shining, 1 And when the stars fall, 2 And when the mountains are made to pass away, 3 And when the she-camels big with young shall be abandoned, 4 the wild beasts are herded together, 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 And when the souls are paired 7 And the little girl buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was killed, 9 when the scrolls shall be unrolled, 10 When the world on High is unveiled; 11 and when the blazing fire [of hell] is kindled bright, 12 and when paradise is brought into view: 13 then shall each person know what he has brought along. 14 I swear by the receding stars, 15 Who move straight and stop. 16 and by the night as it recedes, 17 and the morn as it softly breathes: 18 Verily, this is the Word (this Quran brought by) a most honourable messenger [Jibrael (Gabriel), from Allah to the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him)]. 19 Owner of power, and high rank with (Allah) the Lord of the Throne, 20 [the word] of one to be heeded, and worthy of trust! 21 Your companion (Muhammad) does not suffer from any mental illness 22 And he has already seen Gabriel in the clear horizon. 23 and he is not one to begrudge others the knowledge [of whatever has been revealed to him] out of that which is beyond the reach of human Perception. 24 Nor is it the word of the cursed Shaitan, 25 So where are you going? 26 It is naught but a Reminder unto all beings, 27 For the one among you who wishes to become upright. 28 Though you cannot desire except as God will, the Lord of all the worlds. 29
