Jinns (Al-Jinn)
28 verses, revealed in Mecca after A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf) before Y S (Yaa Seen)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Proclaim (O dear Prophet Mohammed peace and blessings be upon him), “I have received the divine revelation that some jinns attentively listened to my recitation, so they said, ‘We have heard a unique Qur’an.’ 1 It guides to the right course, and we have believed in it. And we will never associate with our Lord anyone. 2 and that “He exalted be His Majesty has not taken to Himself either a wife or a son”; 3 ‘And that the fool among us used to utter false exaggerations against Allah.’ 4 and we had thought that men and jinn would never speak against God a lie. 5 But there were certain men of mankind who would take refuge with certain men of the jinn, and they increased them in vileness, 6 ‘And that they assumed, like you humans assume, that Allah would not send any Noble Messenger.’ 7 We sought to pry into the secrets of the heavens, but found it full of fierce guards and shooting flames. 8 And we used to sit therein in positions for hearing, but whoever listens now will find a burning flame lying in wait for him. 9 "'And [now we have become aware] that we [created beings] may not know whether evil fortune is intended for [any of] those who live on earth, or whether it is their Sustainer's will to endow them with consciousness of what is right: 10 Just as [we do not know how it happens] that some from among us are righteous, while some of us are [far] below that: we have always followed widely divergent paths. 11 'But we think that we can by no means frustrate Allah throughout the earth, nor can we frustrate Him by flight. 12 And when we heard the Message of guidance, we believed therein; and whosoever believeth in his Lord, he shall fear neither diminution nor wrong. 13 And there are among us some who have surrendered (to Allah) and there are among us some who are unjust. And whoso hath surrendered to Allah, such have taken the right path purposefully. 14 but those who deviated from the Truth, will be the fuel for Hell.” 15 And had they kept to the path surely We would have watered them with rain plenteous. 16 as a trial for them. God will make those who disregard the guidance from their Lord suffer increasing torment. 17 The places of worship belong to God; so call not, along with God, upon anyone. 18 ‘And that when Allah’s bondman stood up to worship Him, the jinns had almost crowded upon him.’” 19

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
