Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the winds sent forth in swift succession, 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force, 2 by the scatterers scattering 3 then the criterion (the verses of Koran), separating 4 Then spread abroad a Message, 5 By way of excuse or warning. 6 BEHOLD, all that you are told to expect will surely come to pass. 7 When the stars shall be extinguished, 8 and when the sky is rent asunder, 9 and the mountains are blown away, 10 and when the Messengers' time is set, 11 for what Day has this been appointed? 12 The Day of Judgement. 13 What will explain to you what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 15 Did We not destroy many a nation of the earlier times? 16 Then caused the latter folk to follow after? 17 Thus deal We ever with the guilty. 18 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 19 Did We not create you of a mean fluid, 20 which We then placed in a secure repository 21 till a known term decreed? 22 We determined, how excellent a Determiner are We! 23 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 24 Have We not made the earth (as a place) to draw together. 25 for both the living and the dead? 26 and have We not set on it proud, firm mountains, and given you sweet water to drink? 27 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 28 GO ON towards that [resurrection] which you were wont to call a lie! 29 Depart unto the shadow falling threefold, 30 wherein there is neither shade, nor freeing from the blazing flames 31 Surely it sends up sparks like palaces, 32 As if they were yellowish [black] camels. 33 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 34 This is a day wherein they speak not, 35 Nor will it be permitted for them to make an excuse. 36 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 37 That will be a Day of Sorting out! We shall gather you together and those before (you)! 38 So if you have a plan, then plan against Me. 39 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 40
