In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the (Winds) sent forth one after another (to man's profit); 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 And scatter (things) far and wide; 3 By those who winnow with a winnowing, 4 And by the angels that bring the revelations to the Messengers, 5 to excuse some and warn others: 6 What is promised will surely come to pass. 7 So when the stars are put out, 8 And when the sky is split apart. 9 The mountains will be blown away as dust. 10 And when the time of the Noble Messengers arrives. 11 For what Day was it postponed? 12 For the Day of Sorting out. 13 What do you know what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 15 So if you have any plot to devise against Me, then devise it. 16 Thereafter We shall cause to follow them the latter ones. 17 Those who take heed for themselves and fear God, will be amidst shade and springs of water, 18 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 19 "Eat and drink with relish as reward for what you had done." 20 which We then let remain in [the womb's] firm keeping 21 until an appointed time? 22 Thus We have determined the stages of development and Our power to determine is excellent indeed. 23 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 24 Made We not the earth to be a housing 25 The living and the dead, 26 And placed in it lofty and broad stablisers, and gave you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 28 Proceed to that which you denied. 29 Walk on to the covering having three branches, 30 "Which neither gives shade, nor saves from the flame." 31 Lo! it throweth up sparks like the castles, 32 like giant fiery ropes! 33 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 34 That will be the Day on which they will not (be able to) utter a word, 35 nor be allowed to proffer excuses! 36 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 37 That is the Day of Judgment. We will bring you together with all the ancient peoples. 38 If now ye have any wit, outwit Me. 39 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 40
