The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun is folded up, 1 And when the stars shall dart down, 2 And when the hills are moved, 3 And when milch camels roam abandoned. 4 And when the wild beasts are gathered 5 And when the seas are filled with flame 6 when the souls are coupled (to their body), 7 and when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 for what offence was she killed? 9 the records of deeds are made public, 10 and when Heaven is laid bare; 11 and when the blazing fire [of hell] is kindled bright, 12 And when Paradise is brought near. 13 then shall each person know what he has brought along. 14 I do not need to swear by the orbiting 15 And by the planets that move swiftly and hide themselves, 16 by the night when it approaches 17 and the morn as it softly breathes: 18 That this is indeed the word of an honoured Messenger, 19 The mighty, the honoured in the presence of the Lord of the Throne. 20 who is obeyed there and is worthy of trust. 21 (O people of Makkah), your companion is not mad; 22 And indeed he saw him on the clear horizon. (Prophet Mohammed saw Angel Jibreel in his true shape – peace and blessings be upon them). 23 And Muhammad is not a withholder of [knowledge of] the unseen. 24 And it (the Quran) is not the word of the outcast Shaitan (Satan). 25 Where then are you going? 26 This is naught else than a reminder unto creation, 27 (With profit) to whoever among you wills to go straight: 28 However, you will not be able to choose anything unless God, Lord of the Universe wills it to be so. 29
