Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By oath of those which carry away while dispersing. 1 And those [clouds] carrying a load [of water] 2 And those [ships] sailing with ease 3 And those [angels] apportioning [each] matter, 4 Verily, that which you are promised is true indeed, 5 and, verily, judgment is bound to come! 6 By the heaven with its passages, 7 Verily, [O men,] you are deeply at variance as to what to believe: 8 and are turned away from him who is turned. 9 Destroyed are the falsifiers 10 Those who are in heedlessness neglectful. 11 They ask: When is the day of judgment? 12 It will be on the day when they will be roasted in the fire. 13 'Taste your trial. This is what you have sought to hasten' 14 Surely those who fear God and follow the straight path will be amidst gardens and fresh springs of water, 15 Taking that which their Lord giveth them; for lo! aforetime they were doers of good; 16 Little of the night would they slumber, 17 and at dawn would ask forgiveness, 18 They assigned a share of their property for the needy and the destitute. 19 And in the earth are signs for those who are certain. 20 just as [there are signs thereof] within your own selves: can you not, then, see? 21 And in heaven is your provision and also what you are being promised. 22 By the Lord of the heaven and the earth it is sure, even as it is a fact that ye are speaking. 23
