We created man from sounding clay, from mud moulded into shape; 26 And the jinn We created before from scorching fire. 27 And recall when your Lord said to the angels, “I will create man from sounding clay made out of black smelly mud.” 28 Then when I have formed him and breathed into him of My Spirit fall down unto him prostrate. 29 The angels bowed in homage in a body 30 Not so Iblis: he refused to be among those who prostrated themselves. 31 God asked Iblis, "What made you not join the others in prostration?" 32 He said, "Never would I prostrate to a human whom You created out of clay from an altered black mud." 33 Allah said: then get thee forth therefrom; verily thou art one damned. 34 A curse shall be on you till the Day of Recompense' 35 Iblis prayed, "Lord, grant me respite until the Day of Judgment". 36 He said: So surely you are of the respited ones 37 Till the period of the time made known. 38 (Iblis) said: "O my Lord! because Thou hast put me in the wrong, I will make (wrong) fair-seeming to them on the earth, and I will put them all in the wrong,- 39 Except Thy servants from among them, the devoted ones. 40 (Allah) said: "This is the Way which will lead straight to Me." 41 "Certainly, you shall have no authority over My slaves, except those who follow you of the Ghawin (Mushrikun and those who go astray, criminals, polytheists, and evil-doers, etc.). 42 being perverse; Gehenna shall be their promised land all together. 43 It has seven gates; for every gate there shall be a separate party of them. 44
