The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
I CALL TO witness the heavens and the night Star -- 1 what do you know what the night-visitor is? 2 (It is) the piercing star. 3 There is no soul but that it has over it a protector. 4 So man must consider from what he has been created. 5 He was created of spurting water 6 That is issued from between the backs and the ribs. 7 Surely He is able to bring him back 8 The Day when secrets will be put on trial, 9 Then man will have no power or any helper. 10 By the heaven which giveth the returning rain, 11 And the earth which opens up (with verdure), 12 Verily! This (the Quran) is the Word that separates (the truth from falsehood, and commands strict legal laws for mankind to cut the roots of evil). 13 And it is not a frivolity. 14 Verily they are plotting a plot. 15 and I am cunningly devising. 16 Therefore respite the unbelievers, and delay them for a while. 17
